Review of DoFollow Search Tool

DoFollow Search Tool is another “dofollow” mini search engine for those seeking those love links, this time it is presented by Hippo Web Solutions.

Again, I'll run a test using the four keywords I've previously used and score for the top five results with each result receiving one point for being accurate to the submitted niche and one point if it is “dofollow”.

Over the last couple of weeks I've used the same methodology to examine DoFollow Search Engine and DoFollow Diver Search.

So how many points out of ten will the first keyword, press release, receive at DoFollow Search Tool?

Not many in truth: Real Estate Dispatch throws up three results in the top five but not only are none of them concerned with the subject of press releases, they are also nofollow as the owner seems to have got cold feet and flipped to the dark side.

A post from Shabahan is result number five of five but the only “dofollow” entry is that of eZine Press Launch Experiment.

Oh dear, oh dear the keyword press release only offers us a miserable 1 out of 10.

But, lets not dwell on failure: Link building is up next.

Throwing this keyword into the DoFollow Search Tool at least offers a slightly better result.

50 Ways To Get Links To Your Site is at number one and lists 50 ideas to get your link building campaign started.

Over at LinkersBlog.com there is an interesting discussion called Can you have a bad link? but it's all nofollow in this part of town. Danny, sort it out!

Marketing Pilgrim is placed twice in the top five including this article: Is Trackur the Ultimate Link Building Tool?. But, darn you, they've flipped to the darkside and gone nofollow.

However, The Definitive List (75+) of Link Building Techniques in 2008 redeems the search. This seems to be "dofollow" after 10 posts.

A better score here: 5 out of 10.

Next keyword: RSS directory.

The first result is cool: Free RSS Promotion and Feed Directory With rssHugger. Although from examining the comments at the bottom I can't work out whether it is "dofollow" or nofollow.

In position number two is a review of RSS directory submission software: RSS Directory Submission - Easy, Semi-Automated, and Free. So one point for being relevant to the keyword niche, and another for being "dofollow". Right on!

The rest aren't so hot, but like “No Follow” is Done they are at least "dofollow".

Final result for link building: 5 out of 10.

And finally, the wild card: History websites.

I'm not expecting much here but here goes... in descending order...

1. Beware of Fake Credit Report Sites. No points.

2. Google AdSense Updates Payment History Page. No points.

3. History Warnings of Today’s Political Decisions - A Look at the Fed’s Protection of Homebuyers. Oh, I suppose I could give it one point for being on topic, but no points for "dofollow".

4. Easy Hit Sites. No points.

5. The more famous scientific photo of history. One point I suppose for being about history but it's an old article from 2006 that is now nofollow.

So in conclusion, DoFollow Search Tool really isn't very good.

The results are generally irrelevant to the topic that you are searching for and they are mostly nofollow.

The owner needs to go through the blogs and sites listed and have a purge as many of them, while once being "dofollow", have now flipped to the cold side and are holding back their link love.

There is a facility for people to report nofollow websites that are indexed, but it's always going to be hard to maintain a search engine such as this without continuous prunning from the owner.
