I'll sign off for 2008 now with a few links to some recently posted authoritative articles on link building.
Firstly, check out How to Build the Best Natural Links - Revealed by 6 SEO Experts. In particular, look at the advice presented by David Harry:
"It’s (commenting on blogs) about forming relationships with bloggers in your market in hopes of someday having them (of their own free will) one day link to your content. These will usually be the best kind of links.. organic and editorial (in the content, not the comments). As search engines get better at page segmentation and bloggers get wise, the value of the comment will outweigh the value of the link."
The Definitive List (75+) of Link Building Techniques in 2008 is a good round up from Jeff Quipp who simply wrote down all methods and ideas that he knows of that are being used at the moment.

Anchor text is not allowed. To do that you need to register then you can put two links in your signature. No links to adult sites. After your comment has been added don't forget to social bookmark the post

How About?
How about using the same anchor text for our link? do this will harm our blog for being detected as unnatural link building by G?
Re: How About?
No I don't think so. Remember that commenting on blogs has to be part of a far wider link building strategy so mixed in with a whole host of other incoming links it won't be that obviously visible.
Thanks... and happy holidays!!
Hi, Dave here... glad you were feeling me on that one. I was asked for a comment and folks that engage social as a link building program alone bother me the most lately. But those that are shortsighted in any marketing endeavor usually do a disservice to their over-all offering.
Once upon a time peeps used to advise dropping links of forums as a tactic and it decimated the format soon after (Xrumer and other apps). I'd hate to see social spamming (sites and blog comments) end up there.
It is NOT a legitmate link building tactic.. it is a short term high with little meaning. Search engines might just start valuating links more effectively with page segmentation which should stop much of it I hope... but the lazy fast buck bunch will always exist I fear...
Have a great holiday... and play safe :
This post will surely make me busy.
Thanks and Happly holidays.
Spamming the social networking sites will definitely hurt one's backlinking strategy. It is best to gain a slow steady growth rather than a one time big time surge in traffic then loosing it the next day because G slapped your ranking.
Building a relationship with bloggers that you comment on is a winning strategy. This will not only add value to your link and blog but more importantly to you as a person gaining trust and credibility from established writers.

Winning Ideas
Hi there. I read most of these posts and they're certainly informative and useful, filled with good ideas to at least try out. Since I take on clients for link building, some of the link bait suggestions don't work for me, but a lot of the other ones are top notch and will definitely be put in the rotation for the new year!
Happy holidays all!
