Review of DoFollow Blogs Search Engine at Webmaster Tips

Hello link lovers and groovy cyber kids everywhere, it's AndyW bringing you more reviews of "dofollow" tools that are supposed to make your life easier.

Today we'll gonna rummage around DoFollow Blogs Search Engine at Webmaster Tips, so lets throw down the keywords and get serious with its index.

You know the scoring system here, four separate keywords are submitted with each receiving a score of 10. This is worked out by looking closely at the top five results with one point for a "dofollow" return and one point for a relevant niche page.

To be noted is the grand claim in the introduction:

Unlike other services maintaining huge lists of do-follow blogs (which are not always up-to-date and tend to contain some expired data) this service is based on the live queries against the current Google index. Just enter your preffered keywords and get the results.

Lets slam it with "press release" first.

Two good results in the top five are from the blog of Shel Holtz, a pr professional with decades of experience. In the same vein the excellent For Immediate Release is at number four.

All's well and good so far but unfortunately The Lexicographer's Rules and The Museum of Hoaxes level the score with the their off-topic nofollow entries.

Six points out of a maximum ten are awarded to the keyword press release.

Lets give link building a spin.

Oh dear not too good here. The first result is from the blog of David Seah, who is an "investigative designer" whatever the fuck that is. But it is "dofollow" so one point.

And then there is Getting Started With DoFollow Link Building and Searching for Do-Follow Blogs which are... nofollow! Why the fuck would anybody write extended posts about "dofollow" in such a way when they themselves are subscribed to nofollow?!

In at number five is a weird nofollow article about Barack Obama, while the only result that is worthy of two points is The Power of Search Queries for Link Building: The Basics and Beyond Part 2.

5/10 for link building.

On to RSS directory and only 4 out of a possible 10 for this keyword. The only result worth shouting about in the top five is Have you RSS’d yourself? A must-learn (easy) trick for 2007.

Anything for the rather more abstract history websites?

Okay, admittedly a couple of good results: Ancestry.com scrapes websites; places harvested content behind membership wall being one.

DoFollow Blogs Search Engine unfortunately doesn't live up to its introductory claim. It's not completely hopeless, I myself have found a couple of good leads that I plan to use in the future, but work needs to be done in pruning the excess fat that is the nofollow in its index.
