A Complete List of RSS Directories
I've been working on my own RSS directory for the last six months. Using the Drupal CMS as its foundation, I've been playing around with semantic features. I kept having a tinker, doing something else, and then returning for another slice of design work - which is why it took six months.
Actually, it is still a work-in-progress, but there was enough done for me to put out a press release announcing its launch: The World's First Semantic Feed Directory Has Been Launched.
Existing RSS directories, bar a couple, are really poor affairs. Of all the websites I have submitted to them over the years I have hardly ever noticed any links showing in Yahoo or Google webmaster tools console afterwards.
I thought it would be useful to collate a complete list of RSS directories as are currently active in the spring of 2009.
I've examined them as so: The year the site was created; the exact number of pages indexed in Google; the number of backlinks to the domain as recorded by Yahoo; the Google PageRank; whether it the links are "dofollow" or nofollow; Quantcast data, if any; whether individual items in a submitted feed are itemised or just the feed URL, whether there is any editorial policy or whether they accept anything, and I also checked the index for gambling, pharmacy and porn sites to see they link out to loads of low-quality spammy rubbish sites.
Those with a yellow background look to me like they have been penalized by Google and would best be avoided really

I definitely been through some longer lists, but this one just seems more useful. Not loaded with crap. Straightfoward, to the point, and best of all it contains links that are likely to actually benefit your website. Excellent job. A++. Will recommend!

Thanks for sharing this info. I like the way you give the data. So I can choose which one on these rss directory indexed by google. This is important for me. It is useless if I register with them but search engine do not index it.
